Belfast – a city for sustainable conferences.

Collaborative efforts of Belfast’s tourism and events industry to become more sustainable has helped the city secure the position of 8th in the world in the 2022 Global Destinations Sustainability Index (GDS-Index). The GDS Index evaluated Belfast on four key areas:

This follows the launch of Belfast’s Resilience Strategy, the city’s first climate plan, which outlines 30 transformational programmes to transition the Belfast City Region to an inclusive, zero-emissions, climate-resilient economy within a generation.

We are working closely with Visit Belfast who have a number of green and sustainable initiatives, please click here for more information.

Moreover, the Belfast International Conference Centre, also has a detailed sustainability policy which helps organisations reduce their impact on the environment. Please read here for a detailed overview of considerations within the ICC Team.
